Gifted surgeon Dr. Andrew Elkwood currently holds four appointments throughout New Jersey: Chairman Emeritus for the Monmouth Medical Center Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Medical Director at the Institute of Advanced Reconstruction, Medical Director with the Center for Treatment of Paralysis and Reconstructive Nerve Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and a Medical Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Andrew Elkwood maintains strong ties to the professional community through involvement with many societies, including the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Andrew Elkwood earned a B.S. from Union College, studying biology, organic polymer chemistry, and economics. He then continued at Albany Medical College where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. Moving to New York City to complete his general practice residency at New York University (NYU) Langone Medical Center, Dr. Andrew Elkwood continued his economic studies by earning a Master of Business Administration in Finance at Columbia Business School. In 1994, Dr. Andrew Elkwood continued with NYU to complete a training program in plastic and reconstructive surgery, gaining experience with the Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital Center, and the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Institute. With licenses to practice in New York, New Jersey, California, and Utah, Dr. Andrew Elkwood offers his services as attending surgeon for a dozen New Jersey-area hospitals. Additionally, Dr. Andrew Elkwood provides presentations on his work. With the Seminar at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, Dr. Andrew Elkwood discussed the treatment of brachial plexus and upper extremity injuries, and at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, he addressed the advances in peripheral nerve surgery. With many television appearances to his credit, Dr. Andrew Elkwood has served as a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, FOX News, News 12 New Jersey, and the Discovery Channel. Also, he has given several radio interviews. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Andrew Elkwood stays active through skiing, scuba diving, and sailing, and he plays the piano, banjo, and guitar. Dr. Andrew Elkwood currently resides in Morganville, New Jersey along with his wife.
